Job History |
I
worked at the Danish School of Journalism where I was responsible for
all the Macintosh computers on many levels of development. My talents
run the gamut from setting up a quick installing system for preparing
hundreds of computers to be exactly alike with all the software owned
by the school installed in all the right places, including internet preferences
and remote access settings, as well as special fonts and school logos
with MS Word School letter head and fax templates. I also developed and implemented the flow control for massive amounts of news telegrams and news photography into a database that presented all the items in an easy to navigate cross platform web accessible form. In the TV department, I moved all editing stations from their original avid editing systems through two transitions. First, I moved them into Media 100 systems with Macintosh G-3 computers, thereby quintupling their edit bays for the same price. I then tripled the edit stations by moving into Final Cut Pro edit stations on Macintosh G-4 computers. In the course of changing from AVID to Media 100, I redesigned the edit stations into a more open configuration so that the students could help each other under the supervision of an instructor. I also upgraded the Radio department by moving into digital audio on iMacs and iBooks, thus giving the freedom of movement of the portable. On some of these we were capable of live audio web broadcast from remote locations. My last task was to create a new course of study. The Danish school of Journalism had four courses of study, Print Journalism, Photo Journalism, Television Journalism, and Radio. I researched and set up the entire course of study, including software choices, camera choices, computer choices. I also set up the framework for class time and required abilities. |
